Fantastic Student Leadership Day at Brighton University

Posted in: News Archive

Longhill students were lucky enough to visit the University of Brighton at their Eastbourne campus recently to take part in their Student Leadership Day.

Fifteen Year 10 students were selected for the trip, which aimed to help students build and enhance their leadership skills.  The day involved many different activities, including street surfing, team building, ultimate frisbee and cheerleading.  The main aim of the day was for the students to work with different students, from other Sussex schools, in activities that require trust, communication and team-work.

Everyone fully embraced the day which they found interesting, enlightening and fun!  Here are some comments from Longhill students;

“I really enjoyed all the different activities and working with different people.  It was an interesting experience.”

“I have learned some key teamwork skills.”

“I have really enjoyed the experience I had and it was all taught really well.”

Longhill staff said that It was a pleasure to take such a motivated and appreciative group of students on this trip.  Thanks go to Miss Buxton and also to Mr Pringle for giving up his day to attend.
