Ex-Longhill Students Visit for a Special Assembly

Posted in: Latest News

Our names are Sam Nye Grey and Max Smith-Hashim, both ex-Longhill and Bhasvic students currently studying at the University of Warwick. We are reading Mathematics & Statistics and Mechanical Engineering respectively.

We have taken on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money and awareness for Meningitis Research Foundation UK. We were inspired by the work of the charity and wanted to support them, since students are second most at risk from this deadly infection. With the money we raise we will be able to support campaigns for vaccinations and provide support for those currently affected.

The more people we reach the better, as awareness is the first step to prevention – since prevention is better than cure.

So far, we have been on 7 bucket collections where we have fundraised in the streets of: Brighton, Horsham, Lewes, as well as in Coventry, Leamington Spa, Milton Keynes and Rugby near our university. We have also hosted a pub quiz in Leamington and raised donations on our online fundraising page.

We have a target of just under £7,000.

Please help us help them by donating anything you can via the link above, every little bit helps, no amount is too small. The more people we reach the better, so if you could also spread the word and share our page to family and friends that would be amazing. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
