BHFC Chief Executive Visits Longhill High School

On Thursday 3 October 2019, we welcomed Paul Barber Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman of Brighton & Hove Albion to visit our school to speak to our Year 10 students. This visit included a meeting with the Headteacher, a motivational assembly and a question and answer session.

Mr Barber shared some inspirational details of his personal, educational and professional journey which was well received by both staff and students alike. The students were highly engaged throughout and asked Mr Barber some fantastic questions about his experience, successes and failures throughout the years.

Albion in the Community (AITC) have been working with Longhill High School since September 2016 through a variety of different programmes and interventions, including Premier League Enterprise and the AITC engagement programme.

In September 2019, Longhill High School appointed Premier League Inspires Sports Mentor, Mr Sweetman to begin delivering a comprehensive range of activities – both within and beyond the curriculum. These activities aim to support students struggling at school to develop their skills, gain confidence, improve attendance and behaviour and raise aspirations.
