Letter to Year 10 Parents and Carers Regarding Phase 1 of Pupils Returning to School – 9.6.2020
9th June 2020
Dear Parents and Carers of year 10,
I hope you are all well and staying safe. I wrote to you a while ago with plans regarding year 10’s returning to school and the wider opening of Longhill High School.
The phased approach still remains and we are hoping to go ahead with Phase 1 on Monday 15th June. This date is subject to change and dependant on national and local guidance.
We will go ahead with planning for Monday 15th June and if anything changes I will be in immediately contact with further guidance. All the planning and work will not be wasted if we have the 15th June changed, as we will just move the date onto the next Monday and so on.
Phase 1
- Student/Staff meetings.
- There will be an email sent later this week inviting you and your son/daughter to separately complete a survey regarding the last few months away from Longhill High School. The survey is to assess where your son/daughter regarding two aspects: Academic and Wellbeing. It is important that you both complete the survey as the information will inform the conversation during Phase 1 and will help us support your child back to school.
- We have eight teachers in for each of the days in Phase 1. You/your child will need to book an appointment; very much like a parents evening appointment. The portal will open Wednesday 10th at 3pm.
- Towards the end of this week, guidance regarding arriving and departing from school for the appointment and the expectations of your son/daughter whilst at school will be shared with you. As you can imagine, this guidance will be comprehensive and will need to be adhered to, to ensure safety for all members of our school community.
We are very much looking forward to seeing your son/daughter and we are committed to supporting their return as much as we possibly can.
I will be back in contact as the week progresses.
Kind regards,
Kate Williams
Headteacher
