Passing of former Headteacher Mr Morley

We are sad to announce that the former Headteacher of Longhill High School, Mr Richard Morley, has passed away on the 30th October 2022.

Mr Morley was fondly known as ‘Mole’ by his pupils and was Headteacher of Longhill High School, Rottingdean from 1963-1988 and was also very involved with Brighton & Sussex Schools Athletics. He was born and raised in Ditchling, where he spent most of his life as a popular and active member of the community.  

He passed away peacefully with his family by his side and he is dearly missed by his wife Jean, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Time: 2.30pm

Venue: St Margaret’s Church, Ditchling BN6 8TS

Followed by an informal celebration at Court Garden Vineyard, Ditchling,

To honour his legacy his family are raising funds for a memorial in Ditchling, the community he loved.
