Day 4 started off in a musical way with producer Max Wheeler, taking over Year 8 assembly. He showed us the software Yu Studio and the kind of music you can make. He discussed what it’s like working as a music producer and the other types of roles in the industry. He explained the kind of environment he most enjoys to working in, which involves a small team of people that he is familiar with. Max answered lots of questions, reeling off the celebrity names he’s worked with, most notably Snoop Doggy Dogg.

Max then attended a music lesson, giving students a demo of Yu Studio. He set a brief, of making a music piece to a video of skateboarding and they got stuck in.

In the STEM block, we had more visitors to speak with students. Rend Mohammed, a Chemist, talked to us about the amount of study it takes to be qualified to administer medicine. She also talked about the pathways you can take, whether that be in the hospital, or in the private sector.

We also had a group of Engineers from Mott MacDonald, who are a global engineering management and development firm. Saskia Swatland , Kosidinna Umeigbo and Aimee Jones, talked about their specific pathways as engineers and described the routes they took to get to where they are now.
