Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Taster Day at the Grand Hotel

Longhill was invited, along with other secondary schools in Brighton and Sussex, to attend a taster day for the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.

Students rotated through a series of events and activities, including a mocktail mixology class; hotel bed making and towel folding competitions; a Q&A session with the Grand Hotel’s social media and marketing managers; a tour of the hotel, including the most expensive suite; food tasting in the kitchen with the sous chef, etc.

The Grand provided a large buffet lunch and, unbeknownst to the students, Grand Hotel staff were quietly taking note of students who they felt showed potential in particular areas of the hospitality sector. At the end of the day, nominations and awards were given out in the conference centre.
