Information about E-scooters
Some students and parents are aware of an accident that occurred yesterday in which 4 students collided with each other on the way to school whilst riding E-scooters. The students were taken to hospital with various injuries as a result of this, but we are happy to say the students are recovering with no life-threatening injuries.
May we remind parents that all E-scooters are currently illegal on the public highway (both pavements and roads) in the city. Privately owned E-scooters are legal only for use on private land in the UK with the landowners’ consent. E-scooters are currently being seized by Sussex Police who are imposing fines for anyone found using one. E-scooters should therefore not be used to travel to and from school.
