Henry VIII a tyrant? – History
On 18/09/2023, Year 8 Students in Ms Pringle’s History lesson debated whether, Henry VIII should be remembered as a Tyrant? They will be using historical sources to investigate and come up with their own ideas during the lesson.
The main task for this lesson was to produce a hypothetical Instagram bio for Henry VIII while he was in his 20s. Instagram limits information for 150 characters, so students will have to be concise with what information they write. They were urged to think about his likes, dislikes, personal information; like his age, marital status and date of birth and anything he’d think people want to know about him.
In the next lesson, Students will be analysing the sources they are researching from, when it was created, what it says about his character, his appearance and whether the source is reliable?
