Apprenticeship Manager of the Year!

Layla Williams, the Data and Exams Manager at Longhill High School, has been presented with Brighton & Hove Council’s Apprenticeship Manager of the Year award. She was nominated by her apprentice, Nathan Kinny, who praised her as an incredible mentor and teacher.

“Layla has always been an incredible mentor and teacher… Layla has been committed to the apprenticeship scheme and continues to discuss how more apprenticeships could be introduced within the school environment.”

Nathan Kinny – Data & Exams Apprentice

This term, Layla and Nathan have been diligently ensuring that the GCSE examinations are conducted in accordance with the guidelines set by the individual exam boards. They are managing a growing list of special requirements, such as providing extra time, independent rooms, readers, or scribes for students who need them. Once the exams conclude, they will shift their focus to their data responsibilities, ensuring that the data for the new Year 7 students is accurate and available for staff when the new school year begins in September.

In March, Layla completed her own Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship with Chichester College Group and has been constantly applying her knowledge and skills to her role at Longhill High School.
