Longhill High School Named an England Football Equal Access School
Longhill High School is proud to announce that it has been officially recognised as an Equal Access School for 2025/26 by England Football as part of the nationwide Girls’ Football in Schools initiative. This designation celebrates the school’s commitment to ensuring that every girl has the same opportunity as boys to play football both within the curriculum and through wider school provision.
The recognition comes at a landmark moment for girls’ football nationally. England Football recently confirmed that the target for 90% of schools to offer girls equal access to football in PE at Key Stages 2 and 3 has been achieved three years ahead of schedule. This milestone reflects a transformational shift in participation, with millions more girls now able to experience the benefits of football as part of their education.
Longhill High School has played its part in this progress by embedding inclusive PE provision, expanding extra‑curricular opportunities, and championing football as a powerful tool for confidence, wellbeing, and personal development. The school’s commitment aligns with the wider work delivered by The FA, Barclays, and the Youth Sport Trust to remove barriers and empower girls through sport.
Longhill will continue to build on this achievement by strengthening its extra‑curricular offer and supporting girls’ participation at every stage of their school journey.
