Sussex Police Youth Team Visit Longhill

Sussex Police and Brighton and Hove Youth Team are working with children across the city and are visiting a number of schools to run sessions focusing on criminal exploitation, knife/weapon related crime, sex and the law.

The Police Youth Team introduced themselves last term with a hard-hitting assembly about youth crime and are continuing their support this term with small group mentoring and PSHE lessons.

They have been in classes and groups of students for two days. On the first day the topic was offensive weapons, with the second day focusing on the topic of sexual exploitation and online safety.

All of the topics have been chosen based on national trends in risk taking and areas of concern with teenagers.
