Important: Urgent Hot Weather Notice – Longhill High School will be completely CLOSED tomorrow, Thursday 25th June
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following our update yesterday, the internal temperatures in our school buildings have now breached safe limits due to the upgrading of the weather alert from Amber to Red.
Despite all our mitigation efforts, it is no longer safe for students or staff to be on site. Therefore, Longhill High School will be completely CLOSED tomorrow, Thursday 25th June.
Key Information:
- Remote Learning: All students will move to remote learning tomorrow. Work will be set via Google Classroom.
- Vulnerable Students: If you have a vulnerable child with an EHCP who you need to send in, please let Mr Grier know by 3pm today.
- Friday Update: We expect to reopen as normal on Friday 26th June as temperatures are forecast to drop. We will confirm this via email by 2.00pm tomorrow in case the weather forecast changes.
Please remind children to be safe especially if they go to the beach after school: there have already been deaths in the sea this week sadly.
Thank you for your immediate understanding and support in these unprecedented conditions.
