On Inset days, the school is closed to students. Teachers and support staff will still attend school to participate in training and catch up on other administrative tasks. Inset days are normal practice for all maintained schools in the UK.
YR7 Only Day provides our new intake with an opportunity to find their way around their new school in a less busy environment. We find that this helps settle our new students and gives them the much needed opportunity to get to know their new school.

The Full Governing Board Meeting is where our full governing board comes together to discuss the overall strategy and performance of the school. This meeting is open to governors only.
The Health and Safety Committee Meeting is where our governors meet to walk around the school to conduct Health and Safety checks. After the walk around, governors meet to discuss the Health and Safety practices at Longhill High School. This meeting is open to governors only.
The Personnel and Finance Committee Meeting is where governors meet to discuss and agree financial and HR matters within the school. This meeting is open to governors only.
The school is closed for October Half Term.
The Student Support and Community Cohesion Committee Meeting is where governors meet to discuss and agree matters relating to SMSC, Pupil Premium, Attendance, Pastoral Care and much more. This meeting is open to governors only.

The Curriculum and Standards Committee Meeting is where our governors come together to discuss and review our student progress. The committee considers the effectiveness of the schools curriculum and teaching and learning strategy. This meeting is open to governors only.
