Amazon ‘Get IT’ Trip
As part of the AWS GET IT project, a group of seven year 8 students enjoyed an action packed boot camp trip to the Amazon head office in London.
Once inside the impressive 15 story building, they joined 100 other students from a range of schools in the South East region. The day included a brainstorming and technology session in an innovative creative room where the students could literally cover the glass whiteboard walls with their ideas.
They were acting as ambassadors with the responsibility to deliver Amazon’s advice about how to design and build a successful app to their own and other teams taking part in the project (around 30 year 8 students). Each school will nominate the two strongest app ideas to benefit their local community and these will be shortlisted to 10 teams nationally. The winning team will have their app turned into a reality!
