Vacancy for Parent Governor 2023

Longhill High School is looking for parents/carers who are passionate about the education, development and futures of all our young people.

The governing board has three key functions: to oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure that its money is well spent, to hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and to ensure the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.

Parent governors are not elected to represent all the parents, but to bring the voice of a parent/carer to the governing board. All parents, carers and guardians of children at Longhill High School are eligible to be candidates and we welcome applicants from all parts of the school community.

This is an important and exciting opportunity for someone who supports our community ethos, can contribute fresh thinking and act as a ‘critical friend’. You could gain experience that may benefit your personal and professional life, meet people, develop team-working skills and learn how the school works. Above all, you will make a difference to the development of the children at the school by contributing to the work of the governing board in raising the standards of achievement for all pupils.

If you wish to apply, please complete the attached form and return to Clerk@longhill.org.uk.

Application deadline is midday on 8th December 2023.
