Stargazing Success: A Community Event to Remember
On a clear evening, with the stars perfectly aligned, our community came together for an unforgettable night of astronomy, warmth, and fun. Funded by the Ogden Trust, the event saw students from all six partnership secondary schools—Hove Park, PACA, Patcham, BACA, Longhill, and Cardinal Newman—gather for an evening of stargazing and celestial exploration.
With telescopes set up across the field and guided Sky Tours illuminating the wonders above, the event offered a mesmerising glimpse into the universe. Inside the canteens, a flurry of activities kept everyone engaged, while free hot chocolate and hot dogs provided the much-needed warmth on a chilly night.

But the event wasn’t limited to secondary school students. We were thrilled to welcome families from our local primary schools, whose inquisitive minds brought excellent questions for our team of astronomers. Their curiosity and enthusiasm added an extra layer of joy to the evening.
The perfect weather played a significant role in making this community event a true success. Clear skies allowed for breathtaking views of the stars, planets, and constellations, leaving everyone in awe.

This event was more than just an astronomy night; it was a celebration of community, curiosity, and the shared joy of discovering the wonders of the universe together. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to inspire our students and families with the beauty of science and the cosmos.
