As part of our ongoing commitment to broadening horizons and raising aspirations, our Year 8 students recently took part in an exciting enrichment activity known as Uni Game. This engaging programme was delivered by students from the University of Brighton in partnership with Uni Connect, a national initiative designed to inspire young people to consider higher education pathways.

Over the course of the day, our students explored the world of university through a fun and interactive game that allowed them to simulate key aspects of student life. They talked about budgets, academic courses, social activities, and time management – all while learning about the opportunities, challenges, and rewards of university study.

Uni Game is designed not only to demystify university life but also to empower young people with the knowledge and confidence to see higher education as a real and achievable goal. Through role play and real-world scenarios, the students gained insight into different subject areas, the variety of courses on offer, and the wider experience of university beyond lectures.

The event was a resounding success. Our Year 8 pupils were highly engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and left with a greater understanding of what university can offer. Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on how the activity helped them imagine their own futures in a new and exciting light.

We are proud to be working with Uni Connect and the University of Brighton to offer such meaningful enrichment opportunities. These experiences are a vital part of our mission to support every student in exploring their potential and planning for the future.

We extend our thanks to the enthusiastic university student ambassadors who led the sessions with energy and insight. We look forward to continuing our work with these partners to inspire the next generation of learners.
