Hope Hack – i360

On Friday, 1st February, we escorted a select group of students to the i360 for an enlightening session hosted by the Hope Collective, centred around amplifying student voice and tailoring the educational experience to meet the diverse needs of all students.

The Hope Collective stands as an alliance of cross-sector organizations united by common values and the collective aim of forging tangible improvements for young people and communities throughout the UK. This partnership operates under a banner of unity, driving forward initiatives that promise to usher in meaningful change.

During the event, led by the Hope Collective, our students engaged in thoughtful discussions, expressing their perspectives and proposing solutions to issues impacting their lives and the broader community. The primary mission of the Hope Collective is to shift the focus towards a more hopeful narrative for young people, emphasizing actionable solutions rather than dwelling on problems. The emphasis is firmly placed on nurturing aspirations and envisioning a positive future.

The visit to the i360 with the Hope Collective proved to be an invaluable opportunity for our students to contribute their voices to the ongoing dialogue about their education and future. It was a reminder that when young people are given a platform to express themselves, they can indeed be powerful agents of change.

Today representatives of Longhill collaborated with a range of young people, agencies and charities from across the country to discuss the challenges for the future they face and how they can be agents of change.

Looking into areas including the cost of living, racism, education and mental health they exemplified the qualities we look for in Longhill students and with their well thought out contributions were truly a credit to Brighton and Hove.
