Careers Week 2026

Careers Week has been a real highlight for students this week, offering them the chance to explore a wide range of future pathways and hear directly from professionals about their working lives. Throughout the week, students took part in engaging sessions with visitors from a variety of fields, helping them to understand some of the many different routes available after school.

Student in fire service uniform

We were delighted to welcome a firefighter, journalist, midwife, games developer, producer, lawyer and a representative from the civil service. Each speaker shared their personal career journey, explained what a typical day in their role might involve, and answered thoughtful questions from students about qualifications, challenges and rewards in their profession. These conversations helped bring careers education to life and encouraged students to think more broadly about their own ambitions.

Experiences like this are invaluable in helping young people make informed choices about their future. Hearing first-hand about the realities of different professions allows students to connect their learning in school with the world beyond the classroom.

Professional talking to students about their career

We are already looking ahead to National Careers Week 2027 1st March- 5th March and would love to involve even more members of our community. If you would be willing to speak to students about your career and offer insight into your world of work, please do get in touch. Your experiences could help inspire the next generation.
