Budding Detectives Bring Science to Life for Primary Pupils
This year, eight of our brilliant Science Student Leaders took their skills beyond the classroom to deliver a creative, crime-solving workshop for Year 4 pupils at Woodingdean Primary School.
The “whodunit” workshop—designed entirely by the students—challenged children to solve the mystery of who stole Miss Wilson’s biscuits. Using real scientific methods such as chromatography and fingerprint analysis, the young detectives followed clues, examined evidence, and narrowed down suspects in true CSI style.

Working with both Year 4 classes, our leaders showed fantastic initiative, teamwork, and presentation skills. A huge shoutout to David, Chinmay, Effie, Akil, Biggie, Romy, Ava, and Leona, who all spoke confidently and clearly, creating a truly memorable experience for the younger students.

We’re incredibly proud of their effort and creativity—and grateful for their role in inspiring the next generation of science enthusiasts!
