Last week, twenty eight of our year 9 students travelled to Spain where they spent five days in Salou, Catalonia, on the beautiful “Golden Coast” (Costa Daurada). All of the students thoroughly enjoyed their trip and the activities that they participated in. It was a positive experience for everybody involved.
Bucking the General Election results, Longhill High School’s staff and students voted for Labour in the school’s election, with UKIP and Green coming 2nd and 3rd.
Longhill High School has won a bid to win an Ultimaker2 3D printer. The printer will be generously donated by Dr Harvey with funding he received from the ‘I’m A Scientist: Get Me Out Of Here’ project.
This week, current Longhill High students were proud and excited to see ex-student Tommy Elphick successfully captain Bournemouth AFC to the premier league for the first time.

Last Thursday a select group of Longhill High School Year 10 students attended the Be The Change event at the Amex Community Stadium.
Longhill High School’s Eco-Team had fair weather last Friday as they walked over to the Beacon Hill Windmill at Rottingdean to meet two local bird and nature specialists, Bob Webzell and Peter Whitcomb.

Longhill High School was awarded the Bronze certificate by Eco-Schools this week. Well done to our Eco-Committee for all their hard work, including an Environmental Review of the school followed by an Action Plan to improve our environmental performance. We look forward to seeing the plan in action!
